Abstract

In the current context of the COVID-19 pandemic, distance education models come up as alternatives to higher education systems globally for the continuity of the undergraduate training process. This work was based on a qualitative methodology, with the objective of exploring the limitations of the distance education model by analyzing its characteristics in Cuban universities. Based on the results obtained, actions were proposed from various approaches: technological, pedagogical, organizational, psychosocial, of equity and social inclusion. The main problems identified in the study were continuity of work practice, access to the Moodle platform, interaction between students and professors from their homes in some majors, connectivity, and cost of Internet service. These problems coincide with the limitations identified to give continuity to the undergraduate training process in times of COVID19.
