Abstract

Introduction: The content of the subjects with a clinical-surgical profile within the medical major is materialized in preparing the future general physician for the diagnosis and treatment of surgical diseases.

Objective: To evaluate the scientific-methodological relevance of the "Model of the dynamics of the teaching-learning process of the clinical method in the subjects with a clinical-surgical profile within the medical major", based on its proposal as a starting theoretical construct.

Methods: A pedagogical research was carried out Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de Ciego de Ávila, in the period 2020-2022. Empirical methods were applied: expert criteria and socialization workshops. Ethical principles were complied with.

Results: The " Model of the dynamics of the teaching-learning process of the clinical method in the subjects with a clinical-surgical profile within the medical major " was proposed, with a system of dialectic relations revealed from three links: establishment of the presumptive diagnosis, formulation of diagnostic alternatives, and development of the clinical-surgical reasoning capacity, configurations and dimensions. The concordance of the experts was highly significant. The experts and specialists in the socialization workshops considered it relevant.

Conclusions: The scientific-methodological relevance of the elaborated model was observed, from which three fundamental relationships emerged: of understanding and interpreting clinical-surgical findings, of contrasting results and determining the affected organic system, and of selecting the therapeutic strategy and contextualizing the mode of action.
