Professional Development Course on the Benefits of Oral OLEOZON® as a Therapeutic Alternative in Stomatology
Abstract
Introduction: Oral OLEOZON® has shown promising results in the treatment of various oral health conditions. In this regard, it is necessary to implement measures that enable, through professional development, the updating of knowledge and the development of skills, thereby contributing to improving the quality of stomatological care for the population.
Objective: To validate a professional development course on the benefits of oral OLEOZON® as a therapeutic alternative in stomatology.
Methods: A mixed-methods development study was conducted at the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Morón, Ciego de Ávila Province, between August 2024 and August 2025. Theoretical and empirical methods were used, along with expert judgment from highly competent experts (K = 0.96) to validate the proposed course. Descriptive statistical techniques were employed, as well as Kendall’s coefficient of concordance.
Results: The course was structured as a part-time program, lasting 240 hours, distributed across four topics over a nine-week period, and awarded eight academic credits. Most experts rated the course as “very adequate” or “adequate.” There was consensus among the experts according to Kendall’s coefficient (W = 0.899).
Conclusions: The continuing education course will serve as an effective tool for improving the theoretical knowledge and clinical understanding of dentists regarding the use of oral OLEOZON® as a therapeutic alternative.
