Abstract

Introduction: In a constantly changing society, education must adapt to meet the needs of students. Innovative technological resources, hybrid teaching, and other resources play an important role in this adaptation. To maximize their impact, it is essential to examine them from different perspectives.

Objective: To evaluate satisfaction with complementary educational podcasts used in a sixth-semester nursing course at a private university in Chile.

Methods: Quantitative, descriptive, inferential, cross-sectional study with non-probabilistic and convenience sampling, which considered the availability and willingness of the subjects to participate as inclusion criteria. The sample consisted of 79 students out of a total of 113. Data were obtained using the “Student Satisfaction with Educational Podcasts Questionnaire.” The study was approved by the institutional ethics committee, and all ethical criteria were upheld.

Results: The overall score obtained after applying the “Student Satisfaction Questionnaire with Educational Podcasts” showed high levels of satisfaction with the tool in general. The descriptive statistics values for each item showed positive results in relation to the level of satisfaction.

Conclusions: Complementary educational podcasts show high levels of satisfaction in the population studied, which is consistent with the literature. The challenge remains to study the effects of educational podcasts at higher levels of Kirkpatrick's model.
