Online Master's Program for Health Professionals: Theory and Innovative Practice

Authors

Abstract

Introduction: The online master's program represents a challenge for Cuban postgraduate education due to the scarcity of theoretical-methodological and practical evidence.

Objective: To establish the validity of the online master's program and present the results of its implementation in the Master's Degree in Basic Biomedical Sciences at the University of Medical Sciences in Havana.

Authors' position: There is a lack of awareness about the academic value of the online master's program, which is why its dissemination, application, and research are needed to improve curriculum design, management, and legislation.

Conclusions: The online master's program is a valid but under-explored model for postgraduate training in health, which needs further research in academic management and educational innovation.
