Artificial Intelligence in Burnout Syndrome Training for Healthcare Personnel in Ecuador

Abstract

Introduction: Burnout syndrome is a growing occupational health problem among healthcare workers, driven by psychosocial factors, excessive workload, and insufficient knowledge that limits its early identification.

Objective: To highlight the need for training on burnout syndrome for Ecuadorian healthcare workers, integrating tools based on artificial intelligence.

Development: The lack of academic and professional training perpetuates a lack of awareness of prodromal symptoms, favoring their progression to severe stages. Artificial intelligence is emerging as a transformative strategy that allows for personalized learning based on sociodemographic and occupational variables, offers real-time virtual support, and facilitates the practice of coping techniques. However, its effectiveness requires investment in technological infrastructure and mandatory training in digital skills, ethical data use, and the design of prompts for instructors and professionals.

Conclusions: It is imperative to cultivate a preventative organizational culture through specialized training and the responsible adoption of AI. This integration will strengthen early self-recognition, foster workplace resilience, and safeguard both the well-being of healthcare personnel and the quality and safety of care in Ecuador.
