Abstract

Introduction: Self-assessment is a continuous process that fosters a culture of improvement and establishes a regular evaluation cycle that allows the organization to adapt and evolve according to the changing needs of the environment.

Objective: To design the methodology for evaluating the impact of the Masters Degree in Comprehensive Care for Cancer Patients at the University of Medical Sciences of Camagüey.

Methods: Technological innovation research was conducted between January 2022 and October 2024 to develop and validate a methodology for monitoring impact. The study population consisted of 30 students who graduated from the first edition of the masters program. Experts were consulted to establish the evaluation indicators.

Results: The validity of the content was examined through expert opinion in accordance with Moriyama's criteria. Most of the experts classified all criteria as strongly agreed with values between 90% and 96.6%. Different subsets were identified within the set of variables on the scale, reflecting the dimensions for evaluating the impact of the masters degree program.

Conclusions: The methodology for evaluating the impact of the masters program combines the application of quantitative and qualitative approaches to graduates, managers, employers, patients, family members, and the community. The variables are grouped into three dimensions: impact on graduates, impact on institutions, and impact on society. The proposed methodology was validated as a basis for continuous improvement.
